Meet Shirley Craddick
Shirley began her tenure as Gresham City Councilor, in January 2004. She was reelected in 2008 and is now serving her second term.
She is a retired Registered Dietitian and health researcher, serving at Kaiser Permanente’s Center for Health Research for almost 33 years. During her tenure she was involved in the design and implementation of multi-site behavioral clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She is an author and co-author of scientific articles and books regarding the relationship of diet and cardiovascular disease.
Shirley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Institutional Management from Oregon State University. She received her R.D. (Registered Dietitian) from Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and her Masters degree in Health Administration from the University of Southern California.
She is the past president of both the Oregon Dietetic Association and the Portland Dietetic Association.

• Council alternate to the Metro Policy Advisory Committee (MPAC)
• Gresham City Council liaison, Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission
Councilor Craddick is married to Richard Craddick, retired Assistant Superintendent of the David Douglas School District. She and Dick have lived in Gresham since 1979.
Dick and Shirley have two daughters: Emily, who lives in Portland; and Amy, who lives in Salem with her husband, Marc and their two children.
Councilor Craddick is an avid runner competing in road races for over 33 years including many Hood to Coast Relays. She loves to garden and read.
